October is National Protect Your Ears Month!
Did you know that October is National Protect Your Ears Month? It is! At Sonus, we believe that early prevention is key for preventing hearing loss down the line. There are a few simple things that you can do to make sure that you are protecting your hearing:
• Turn the volume down! Lots of us like to listen to our music at volumes that we don't even realize are harmful to our hearing. Any sound that is above 85 dB is harmful to our hearing if exposed for too long. Set volume limits on your devices so that you do not allow music to play too loud, even unintentionally.
• If you are close to noise - move away! Closer proximity to loud noises, of course, means that the damage that the sound is doing to our hearing is more extreme. Remind yourself of this when you are in noisy environments such as concerts, fireworks, airshows, etc.
• Wear hearing protection such as earplugs!
If you would like to come into your local Sonus office for a free hearing consultation, or to test our some of our newest hearing technology, give us a call at (888) 574-6776 or request your appointment here.
